All about baby …

Newborn infants are tiny beings for a very short time. Capture this very brief but heartwarming moment in your baby's life.

Planning Your Session:

  • Schedule your newborn portraits during your 2nd trimester to make sure you get on my calendar. Session are best when baby is 4-14 days old.
  • Attempt to schedule your portrait sitting around your infant’s nap and feeding routine. If possible, feed your infant when you arrive at my studio. You will choose your props and set ups you love best. I will set up while you feed . Newborns usually sleep best with a full tummy.
  • It is important to bring essential items to comfort your infant including a favorite blanket, pacifier, diapers, wipes and anything necessary for feedings.
  • No infant portrait is complete without you, the parents. So come prepared.
  • Even if you aren’t comfortable posing in your post-baby glory, give yourself a manicure in case you want close-ups of your hands cradling the baby’s head, feet and hands.
  • Schedule your baby’s milestone Portraits while you are at the studio. Most common dates are three-month, six-month, nine-month and first birthday portraits..

Newborn Baby Photo Clothing Suggestions:

  • Infants look adorable with little or no clothing.
  • I have a lot of newborn props, outfits, hair bows, hats, blankets and more.
  • Newborn clothes tend to bunch up and look messy. Your tiny baby can get lost in layers of clothing.
  • Avoid mittens or socks. They leave elastic marks on tiny wrists and ankles.
  • Attach the diaper a little loosely to avoid lines around your baby’s waist.
  • Include a spare outfit in your diaper bag incase of spit ups or leaks.
  • If you have any cherished items like a favorite toy or a framed picture of a deceased grandparent, and would like to include it in your portraits, carry it along.

And Most Importantly! Bring a sense of adventure and a sense of humor. This is going to be FUN!
